Recently I was in Berlin. Under all circumstances you would like to take pictures off course. If I don't carry my digital SLR around, than I use my standard camera or my iPhone 3GS. As I can say for myself, this resulted in some nice photo's.

Walking Man

Berlin is a great city, relaxing and there are lots of things to see and do. Unfortunately we found at our last visit quite some bad wheather. It's summer! What can you do then? Than we take photo's of someone who likes to be captured in 'slow motion'. That resulted in a series of photo's worth watching. But who is this 'Walking Man'? He loves the turntables and enjoys life to the max.

Photo collection - Volume 1

Between 2005 and 2007 I surfed a lot on the Buzznet.com website. There it already started that people were uploading photos taken with their mobile phone.

I enjoyed it a lot, but now I have my own site with which I can do the same thing. In order to preserve the photos I posted on Buzzet, I put them here together in an album.

The photo's cover roughly a period of 3 years. In the end I created a large mozaiek of all the photos together and hung it on my wall.

Night Market in Chiang Mai

In October 2008 I was in Chiang Mai in Thailand. And when you are there it is almost an obligation to visit the Night Market. The bazaar is located in the middle of the city and comes to live every night.

The bazaar attracts a lot of tourists and it is probably the cheapest place in Thailand to buy products. You can buy everything there, from antiques to cheap souvenirs and offcourse fake products.

Besides that you can also eat everything there and that is what drew my attention. The variety in food is enormous. That is why you will find a collection of photo's in this album about the food that is being sold in the Night Market of Chiang Mai.

For quite some years I go for skiing in Val Thorens, France. This ski region is part of a bigger region called Les Trois Vallees, which also contains the villages Les Menuires, Courchevelle and Méribel. It is a very wide and beautifull area with some nice glaciers. Over the years I collected some pictures which I gathered in this album.

Southern India

It was a 3 week trip that started in Mumbai. From there I went to Goa, from Goa to Bangalore, then to Chennai. From Chennai I flew to the Andaman Islands and from there striaght back to Goa. My trip ended in Mumbai from where I flew home.

I already posted some pictures of various areas I visited on this trip, like the Andaman Islands, Bangalore and Goa. This album merely contains photos of all the places I went to that don't belong to the mentioned albums. Happy browsing!

I checked out the city and found out that on the streets they sell at least loads of (old) IT books.
Goa, India

In 2007 I spend some time in Goa, India. Goa is the smallest province of India, located at the west coast, and is the one province where the majority of the people is Catholic and where the cows are not holy. Besides that, Goa has lovely beaches which are exactly suitable for an escape from normal life.

Goa lies at the Arabian Sea. Because of the Portugese occupation in the 16th century lots of Goa still shows the influence of this period. Many houses are in Portugese style and the main religion is Christian Catholic. It is well known for its beautifull beaches. Panaji is the capital, but Vasco Da Gama is the largest city. Also famous for its hippy culture in the 60's and 70's and still you walk into people for who time stood still since then.

To give you a small impression of the beaches of Goa, I posted a couple of photos in this album. Enjoy.

Figueira da Foz and Porto

I drove for a couple of days from Lisbon along the coast to Porto. Here and there I took some photos, like in Figueira da Foz and Porto.

Figueira da Foz is a harbour town at the mouth of the Mondego river, halfway Lisbon and Porto. I took some photos in the harbour and at the boulevard at the beach. In Porto, the second city of the country, I took some shots of the, offcourse, famous Dom Luis I bridge. The bridge is completely made of steel and designed by Théophile Seyrig, an old employee of Gustave Eiffel.

I took shots with my Canon Ixus as well as with my 400D. For the post processing of the RAW photos I used the Canon Photo Tools.

There I visited the amphitheatres of El Jem. In the beginning three of those amphitheatres were build in El Jem during the reign of the Roman Empire. Two of them are located somewhat out of town, but what remains of them are only the fundaments. The third and largest amphitheatre is located in the center of town and is preserved the best, although a lot of renovation has taken place. This theatre also served as a film location for the movie 'Gladiator'.

I was there for an afternoon to take some pictures. You can see the result below.

In October 2007 I stayed for a couple of days in the island group of Andaman & Nicobar islands. This group of islands belongs to India and lies in the Andaman sea between India and Thailand, roughly 2 hours flying from the idian city Chennai. The islands, which are really beautiful have, unfortunately have not been spared by the devastating tsunami, known by everyone. Still, it's beauty has not been lost and that is exactly what the pictures try to show. The following pictures give an impression of the beauty of this group of islands, situated on and around the island Neil and in the capital Port Blair.
