Yes, I arrived in Brisbane! And it looks pretty okay too. Today I started with a big walking tour throughout the city to check what's going on.
The hostel I ended up in wasn't bad either. They have their own bar/cafe and of course I tried it right away. 
I travelled by train from Sydney to Brisbane. During the trip I visited Coffs Harbour and Byron Bay. Too bad that it rained so much in Byron Bay, nevertheless a fantastic place where everybody wears swim clothing all day. There are lots of beaches with huge waves and I tried them with my body board I borrowed. Very tough though, to manage those waves, especially when you get the feeling that you are in a washing machine
. But it was terrific! 
In Brisbane I will try to find a job. Let's see where it leads to. I will start right away.
